At this time of year, if your property is vacant or if you are going away for any length of time, we recommend that you start to consider taking precautions to prevent frost damage.
The cost of repairing flood damage caused by burst pipes can obviously be quite considerable, therefore, we suggest the following:
Leave the central heating system on for short periods of time daily to ensure the temperature in each room is reasonably high and open the loft hatch to allow warm air from the house to enter the roof space.

Employ a professional to turn off the water supply and drain down the central heating system.
